What’s the mission behind No Bad Days?

No Bad Days is a brand focused on men’s mental health. With over 8 years of experience, No Bad Days offers personalised barbering and mental health support.

Our tattoo-inspired clothing range donates 10% of profits to charity, while our grooming products are tailored to each customer, with another 10% supporting the charity.

We also host events such as charity football games and well-being walks, with all proceeds benefiting mental health causes.

THE NO BAD DAYS PROJECT.

The No Bad Days Project CIC is an independent, not-for-profit arm of the No Bad Days mission. Where the barbershop delivers day-to-day service, the Project exists to take things further by reinvesting funds directly back into the community to raise awareness of men’s mental health.

Every pound raised goes towards initiatives that reach beyond the chair, supporting local causes, backing awareness campaigns and helping break down the stigma that stops men from talking. It’s the same belief that built No Bad Days from a shed in 2020, now with a dedicated structure to make a bigger impact.

As an independent CIC, the Project operates separately from the commercial side of the business, so funds and focus stay where they’re meant to: on the community.

The No Bad Days Journey
The Beginning (2020)
It started in a shed, not a shopfront. No fancy setup, no big investment, just a passion for barbering and a willingness to experiment. Homemade grooming products, trial and error, and a belief that something bigger could come from it. That shed became the first chapter of what No Bad Days would grow into.
As word spread, so did the relationships. Gillingham FC players started coming through the door, and the local community began to take notice. These weren't just clients, they were the foundation of a brand built on trust and genuine connection rather than marketing spend. Every conversation in the chair was planting a seed for what was to come.
The shed gave way to a proper shop on St. Mary's Island, and with it came real recognition. Coverage from Kent Online and Kent Live brought No Bad Days to a wider audience, and a loyal following started to form. This was the moment the brand stopped being a side project and started becoming something people talked about.
Growth brought new opportunities, and one of the biggest was the partnership with Mind. It marked a shift from being a barbershop with good intentions to a brand actively backing men's mental health. This wasn't just a badge to wear, it shaped the conversations happening in the chair and the direction the business was heading.
The work was starting to reach further than the shop floor. A feature on BBC News put No Bad Days in front of a national audience, and becoming Gillingham FC's official EDI partner cemented its place in the community it had been building since day one. What started as local relationships had turned into genuine impact.
After years of growth, No Bad Days needed more room to match its ambition. The move to a new flagship shop in Upnor marked more than a change of address, it was a statement of intent. More space meant more services, more barbers, and the chance to build something bigger than a haircut.
The launch of the No Bad Days Project CIC turned the mission official, giving the community side of the brand a structure to grow from. Tattooing and SMP joined the offering upstairs, rounding out the shop into a full identity and wellbeing destination. National recognition followed, proof that a shed in 2020 had grown into something with real impact.

I’m really excited to be joining No Bad Days. After 10 years of hairdressing, I’ve realised that one of the things I love most about my job isn’t just doing someone’s hair; it’s the relationship you build with the person in your chair.

I want my clients to feel comfortable, heard, and completely themselves, whether they want to chat throughout the appointment or just enjoy some time to switch off. I specialise in colour but also offer cutting and styling, and I love creating hair that leaves people feeling more confident.

No Bad Days already stands for so much of what I value about this industry, so bringing hairdressing into that environment feels like a really exciting next step for me.

Emily
Senior Stylist & Colourist

Hiya, I’m Emily! I’ve been doing hair for a hot minute now in cities all over the globe. I specialise in textured, lived-in hair — the shaggier, the better! I’m so excited to be joining No Bad Days and introducing colour and perming services for clients. I’m a big believer in gender-neutral hair and in using hair as a form of self-expression.

I like to create a safe space for anyone who wants to express themselves however that may be. As someone who’s been through some mental health struggles in the past, working for a shop that encourages conversation and creates an environment that allows people to be comfortable enough to ask for help, or even just to get something off their chest, is really amazing.

To work with people whose values align with mine is such an amazing opportunity, and I’m super excited to get stuck in and do some sick hair!
