Hello, from the owner
Hi, I’m Jake – No Bad Days started as a seed of an idea years ago and truly bloomed through lockdown 2020. Lockdown was mentally hard for everyone. Personally I really struggled with my mental health and staying positive, but what the free time enabled me to do was grow NBD and use all my energy into planning and talking into existence what I wanted for the brand.
Growing up I’d find it hard and sometimes isolating to not see/hear other men/boys around me openly talking about mental health issues. This was something I wanted to change. So I set my heart on creating a brand dedicated to raising awareness and well needed funds for mental health charities, specifically mind. I’ve had to use MIND twice in my life for counselling & CBT and I clearly remember the thoughts of ‘I don’t know anyone else having to go to counselling or therapy, why me?’. But in actual fact when I started being overly open about this, I found out there was plenty of people I knew who had used these kinds of services in the past but wasn’t in the right head space to talk about their experience. This Is why at NO BAD DAYS I’ll always ensure 10% of product profit sales are donated to mind charity, forever. Having this pledge and brand name sparks conversations with customers which can then led to a chat about mental health.
Talking can not only ease and soften your experiences but also help others to not feel alone going through it. Counselling and CBT isn’t scary and it isn’t weak, its only going to improve you as a human, and personally there’s nothing cooler than that right?. In my journey with mental health I’ve tried and tested lots of different coping methods over the years including medication, meditation, breath work, diet, exercise, CBT, therapy and many more. But every human is different and what works for one might not work for another. So give them all a shot and see what works for you. Just be sure to seek professional advice before diving into something.
‘Allow yourself bad moments in a day but NO BAD DAYS’. This is a phrase I’ve always said to myself. Don’t rule out a day as bad, just individual moments. Having this mindset can help you get your day back on track.
In 2021 I completed a qualification in mental health first aid to equip myself with the knowledge and tools to be able to talk to people in the shop and advise them regarding mental health issues. I’d like people to know that my chair is always a space for them to open up and if they need a chat I’m all ears.
NBD has bloomed and grown over the last few years. From hand making products and cutting hair in a garden shed to a having a unique 1:1 barbershop in a beautiful location. We also have a clothing range, mens grooming products and now going into putting on mental health focused events in Kent.
the NBD Story
how we got started
No Bad Days started as an idea at the beginning of lockdown, March 2020. An idea to use top quality men’s grooming products & barbering as a platform to raise awareness for men’s mental health issues. A completely self ran operation making hair products and cutting hair in a small garden shed in South East London.
where are we now
Over the last 2 years NBD has grown from strength to strength. Having a fully booked column in the Barbershop daily, hair products selling out monthly, our clothing range has been received amazingly and now putting on events and charity days to raise well needed funds for mental health organisations. We’ve even had professional footballers, Olympic athletes and many more coming through the shop!

Being featured by multiple local news has been such highlight for No Bad Days – helping us really spread awareness on our mission here.
We’ve had KMTV do a filmed piece on No Bad Days that went live on TV! Featured in the Kent online news paper with a full page spread! Kent messenger also did an online piece, all of which highlighted the quality of the cuts and the fact we’re raising awareness and funds for charity and mental health. Getting a haircut is a great form of self care, which can have a confidence boosting effect.
